Earthquakes hit Tonga

According to the U.S. Geological Survey Web site monitored in London, an earthquake measuring 6.0 hit the islands of Tonga on Friday, just one day after a 7.9 earthquake which the worst in 20 years and lasted about 30 seconds(!), reported by Reuters.Â
From above map, you could see how near is Fiji and the 7.9 earthquake!
Thanks God, it only generating a small tsunami, but off course it sparking fears of a major disaster. The small tsunami generated by that quake was estimated at about only half a metre, with tide gauges in Pago Pago, Samoa and Niue.
Initially, the Pacific Tsunami Warning Centre issued a tsunami warning for Tonga, Fiji, Samoa, New Zealand and other small island states but cancelling the alert a few hours later.Â
