Intel Introduces Core 2 Duo Processor
This July, Intel will introduces a new desktop processor (code name: Conroe) called Core 2 Duo. This will be a mainstream dual core processor and it will replace the hot and under performing Pentium 4 range. The notebook version, also called the Core 2 Duo, will replace the current Core Duo in August.
Intel will using the same name, “Core 2 Duo” for their mainstream desktop and laptop, as their branding strategy to make it simple for consumers and businesses.
Yay! I will not confuse anymore! Hmm..but their name is quite hard to pronounce.
If you are thinking of buying a new computer, you might want to wait till July where you will get the latest lower power consumption and cooler running Intel chip.
For your information, the AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual-Core Processor is already run cooler than the Pentium 4’s and consume less power.
I am still using my Pentium III 866MHz though.
