Google Trends is another web service launched by Google today.

My IE homepage is http://www.google.com.my/, today, when I open the IE, I see “New! Just launched: Google Trends and the latest Google Desktop.”

At first I just ignored it.

Then after a few hours, when I have no more job to do, I go back to the homepage, and asking what is Google Trends? How about have a try?

After several tries, I think this web service is amazing. Why? Because you could analyze what other people were searching and compare the result.

For example, if your want to build a web site about contact lens. You may wonder what was the right keyword that the world most searched for, contact lens or contact lenses? Click here to find out.

Okay, from the result, most people searched for “contact lenses” rather than “contact lens”. But in the early of Q2 2006, more people searched for “contact lens”… hmm, may be because of contact lens solution infection issue. So, decide yourself what keyword you want to focus for your web site.

You could also find, which cities or regions using which phrase or keywords. If you are targeting for certain cities or regions, this result would be very useful.

So, “see what the world is searching for” today!
