Photo to VCD Software

Yesterday, one of my friends asked me to convert his 500MB photographs from his Canon Ixus 55 to a VCD. He said, print 500MB(about 200 pieces) of photographs would cost a lot. To print 200 pieces of 4R photograph will cost about RM100, but to convert 200 photographs to a VCD is as low as RM5.

I have tried some photo-to-vcd software:

Actually, the first three of these software, do not convert photo to vcd as video. In fact, they put the down sized photos from the original to VCD. The image quality is very bad. May be because I converted the photos to VCD, not DVD, so I got VCD quality. But, honestly, the quality was not acceptable.

photo-to-dvd.jpgOn the other hand, Photo2DVD studio is amazing. It converts the photos to a real VCD format. Actually, it joined all photographs to one slideshow and converts them to a video, MPG video. You may insert sound to the video. So, while you are watching the video, you could enjoy your favourite music. Photo2DVD Studio supports wide variety of sound format such as MP3, WMA, WAV and etc. The photo quality in the video is very good and very clear.

Photo2DVD studio is very user-friendly. The wizard, to start a project, is very helpful and easy to understand. Just put the photographs, and sounds then burn it!

You could also create more then one slide in a VCD, which they would act as segments in the finished VCD.

Actually, on the firsts tried I got some error about ffshadow every time I inserted a sound. After I uninstalled ffshadow, no more error appears.

Another problem, when I put different format of sounds as the background music, there will be quite lenghty of gaps (about 10 - 30 seconds) among the music.

Overall, I am really satisfied with Photo2DVD Studio. In fact, I want to recommend to everybody to consider this software if you want to convert your hundred megabytes of photographs to VCD.
