Change My Car’s Springs

(Visited 1360 times)

Yesterday, I went to a spare part shop to buy my car’s spring to replace the old ones. The old ones, which are the OEM, were already too soft until everybody said that I had lowered my car using the sport spring..he he he. Hence, the springs is already 6 years old! Yup, it looks more sporty, but when it load with 2 or more people, the tyres will touch the fenders, and the drive is so bumpy.

I always buy the part myself and then go to a car service center and ask them to replace the part for me. I think it will save me alot. By the way, I also bought a bottle of Castrol GTX engine oil and an oil filter.

Here is the list of what I have bought:

  • 1 pair of front spring for Proton 1.8 : RM 105
  • 1 pair of rear spring for Proton 1.8 : RM 58
  • 1 bottle of 4L Castrol GTX engine oil : RM 46
  • 1 oil filter for Proton 1.8 : RM 7

Total loss was RM 216. Well, I think it was quite cheap because somebody told me that the 1.8 springs’ price is around RM 300!

Then I went to to a car service center, and here is the bill:

  • Change springs job : RM 70
  • Replace gear oil : RM 32
  • Labour charge for change engine oil : RM 8
  • Computerize Alignment : RM 25
  • Camber Screw adjustment front and rear : RM 65

Total: RM 200

And now, I just got the feeling like driving a new car.. ha ha ha ha..

But, on the same day, I have shorted a speaker wire at the amp while I adjusted the front seat. (My amp is located under the front seat). And, the sound become crazy. When I switch on the radio, there is a very loud sound of aeroplane!! Badddd.. I hope it is just the amp that become faulty.. or if it is the radio (Pioneer DEH 5650 (I think) mp3 & wma player) fault, it will cost so much for me…. :(

I think, it is like a curse to me that, everytime I repairs something broken, there will be another thing become faulty..on the same day!
