Problems with Samsung HD850 DVD Player

(Visited 912 times)

I have own the Samsung HD850 DVD Player for almost a year and here are some problems or “somethings not so nice” I have encountered with this player.

The most disturbing is the audio and the video will not sync if I use fast forward or rewind, or skip feature. This surely will occur when I play divx (.avi) file. In order to avoid this problem, I will not touch those buttons while playing divx file. Even if I have already watch half of the film, if I want to continue the other half next time, I have to watch it from the beginning!

This sync problem also will accur if I pause the player for a long time (about 5 minutes) which after that, the player will activate the screensaver. When I unpause it, the video and the audio will not sync.

The fast forward and the rewind function also not smooth like other player, such as a Sharp DVD player. I only see some slide of pictures skipping instead of fast moving video! As a result, I will miss a lot of parts of the video.

It also cannot read a multisession DVD. Actually, it only read the first session only!

I have wait for almost a year if there will be any firmware upgrade to fix those problem but there is none.

Although it have very good display resolution, but with those very disturbing problems I do not recommend it to anybody to buy it!
