Flood in Kota Tinggi Getting Worse
Yesterday morning, a friend of mine called from Kulai, said that the flood in Kota Tinggi is getting worse. He could not go to the center of the town at all.
He was actually wants to go to Kluang, but the road to Kluang has been closed because of a bridge has been swayed by the river. So he cancelled the trip and went to Kota Tinggi.
TV3 News, last night, also aired some scenes from Kota Tinggi. The water level almost achieves the second floor of most of the buldings there. There is also a bus, at the bus station trapped in the flood.
This is the second time Kota Tinggi being flooded, in just 3 weeks. Continuous heavy rain these three days has brought the floods. The heavy rain is expected to continue until Monday. Really bad.
Updated on 28 January 2007: No more flood at Kota Tinggi. I went to Kota Tinggi on 26 January. There was no more flood. But really sad when only a few shops opened.
The CIMB Bank is operationing at the 2nd floor. No ATM Machine. I didn’t really knew about Maybank. It was like they were doing a full renovation. They had about 6 machines before the flood which I believed that all their ATM machines were submerged.
Bank Simpanan Nasional’s ATM was operationing like normal and also the bank. While other bigger bank is still crawling to take action, the BSN is faster this time. Unlike a BSN.
Kini supermarket, was already re-opened since January 25. There were so many people there when I arrived! Many of them interested to shop for cheap submerged goods.
I also heard some people said that some shops will never be opened again such as a Hyundai car dealer beside the BSN, KIA car dealer infront of ESSO abandoned petrol station, a computer shop at Jalan Niaga 7, severals aquarium shops, an internet cafe near Plaza Kota Tinggi, some electronic shops and many more.
