Friday, May 16th, 2008

Today I bought a Toyota Rav4, from my FOREX profits.

Here it is…

From Rav4

What???!!!

In my dream…

Ok..it’s not funny.
I just found out about MindMovie.
Watch a movie about your success in the future. It’s some kind of motivation to achieve it. So, I collect and watch photos of Toyota RAV4 as my motivation. Toyota Rav4 is one of my dream car beside Toyota Wish.

I have made a MindMovie for myself. Put it into my Nokia N70. Watch it before sleep and when I woke up in the morning.

You might want to make a mindmovie for yourself. Browse to youtube and search “MindMove”, and watch some of it to get the idea.

Here is an example:

How to make a MondMovie? I make the movie using Microsoft PhotoStory.. it’s easy!!

Step 1: Collect photos from my collection and from the internet
Step 2: Import all of them into PhotoStory 3
Step 3: Create some words and zooming here and there
Step 4: Put an mp3 song

Done!

Cisco don’t want Apple to use iPhone name

Thursday, January 11th, 2007

A few hours after Apple Computer announced it’s mobile phone,
“iPhone”, it being sued by Cisco , a giant networking company. Cisco accuse that Apple is infringing its iPhone trademark. Even in Wiki, an iPhone is referred as Apple product. It’s not fair!

Cisco obtained the iPhone trademark in 2000 after completing the acquisition of Infogear, which previously owned the mark and sold iPhone products for several years. Infogear’s original filing for the trademark dates to March 20, 1996. Linksys, a division of Cisco, has been shipping a new family of iPhone products since early last year. On Dec. 18, Linksys expanded the iPhone® family with additional products…. read more

An iPhone, before this, is known as a Voice Over IP Phone, a product of Cisco. A telephone that works over the wireless network within a person’s home to make cheap phone calls over the Internet.

What so special about iPhone? Why Apple wants to name it mobile phone as iPhone? I believe, it is because of the iPod name. Apple cannot live without iPod. To survive (or to boost it sales) it’s product must depend on iPod, an “i” name-based. iPod has been sold for more than 70 millions units around the world.

Personally, I don’t like “iPhone” name, but I like “iPod”. I think, iPhone is not a product or a brand. It’s like a line of products such as the internet-based phones. iPhone name used by Cisco is more suitable.

If the tables were turned, do you think Apple would allow someone to blatantly infringe on their rights? How would Apple react if someone launched a product called iPod but claimed it was ok to use the name because it used a different video format? Would that be ok? We know the answer – Apple is a very aggressive enforcer of their trademark rights. And that needs to be a two-way street… read more at Cisco blog

Apple’s iPhone is a multimedia product. It don’t have to relies on “i” name. However, Apple is so stuborn and wants to use the iPhone name whatever it takes.

Come on Apple! Thrash that name! You do have other much better ideas don’t you? Just use any other name such as jPhone kPhone, lPhone or mPhone :) .

iPod + Phone = iPhone

Wednesday, January 10th, 2007

iphoneApple Computer just annouced it’s latest gadget, a handphone! It is called an iPhone which is inspiring of the succes of the iPod.

Wah.. what a surprise! (oh no)

While other mobile phone manufatures out there are going into the multimedia market, the multimedia product is just step out of the door to looking for a place in the communication world.

IMHO, it is a brilliant move. Yes, we do know Steve Job is always a brilliant guy. But I think it is quite late. The mobile phone had reach the 3G, unlike the iPhone which is 2G. But, another but, like all the wise guys said, better late thennever.

The iPhone (don’t they have any better name? What is the”i” anyway?) have the touch screen technology (so it has no button, “We’re going to use a pointing device that we’re all born with. It works like magic,” Jobs said.), iPod inside which can play video and mp3 with iTunes support, intergrated camera (how good is it?), Google mapping software, web surfing and bla bla bla..

“The iPhone is like having your life in your pocket. It’s the ultimate digital device,” Steve Jobs said during the unveiling at MacWorld in San Francisco.

I don’t own an iPod so I don’t know how good it is. I just guess it is like any other mp3 players, the only advantage is Apple iPod got iTunes.

I got a Nokia N70, can play MP3 too! :P Although the sound is not as crisp as the Sony Erricson, but once I plug the earphone, I think the sound is so good.

Anyway, I just think the iPhone is a very good product. iPod fans might be interested to have one, so they don’t have to bring their phone on the right hand, the digital camera in their left pocket pant, and an iPod in their right pocket pant anymore.

GMail in Your Mobile Phone

Friday, December 22nd, 2006

If you are a GMail user, it is very convinience to have your GMail everywhere you go. As you already knew, GMail is free and have huge storage space so you do not need to delete your old email. The way the email are organized is another factor to choose GMail among other free email services.

GMail in mobile phone is not new. In fact, I have already use it for months, just today I want to write about it.

Before using Google’s own software to view my GMail box, I use the built in Symbian60 message software. Yeah, you may knew it. It is not good enough. All email are converted to sms type font. You may not see the email how suppose it should be.

profimail.pngAnother software good for viewing email is ProfiMail. This software is excellent. You see email in your mobile exactly you will see it on your computer monitor. You may feel that this software is Microsoft Outlooks’ twin! But, it is not free. It is priced at $24.99. If you have the money, just go ahead..no regret!

GMail mobile application, on the other hand, is not so bad. You may not find it as Outlook’s twin but GMail twin (of course!!). It has the same Gmail interface. Your account stays synchronized whether you access it from your computer or the phone. You also can easily view attachments such as photos, documents and .pdf files in your mobile phone.

Another great product from Google!
